This is a gifted experience
Last Thursday we went to the amazing Jr’s in North Walsham. First off as soon as you walk in the safety signs are very clear, with hand sanitiser stations and staff in PPE. we felt safe the whole time without it ruining our day. We started off in the maize maze. It was bigger than I thought, it seemed to go on forever which was pretty amazing as we were expecting a small maze.
The kids took it in turns being the leader and trying to find the way out. I didn’t think Ted would enjoy it, being only 2. But he loved it! Having the freedom to run around and get lost was exciting for him (Tom and I were always a few steps behind, but it still felt like freedom for him.) There are no stops for water inside the maze so don’t forget water bottles just in case it does take a little while to find your way through.
We made our way over to the outdoor play area which has plenty for the kids to do. Including slides, climbing frames and a whole area to make musical sounds. Which is perfect for a bit of sensory play. I even had a go on the slide. However, I wouldn’t recommend wearing a dress as I nearly had friction burn on my bottom haha.
After playtime, we headed over to the American diner. Daddy being daddy ordered the biggest item on the menu. Then soon regretted it as it came out and was huge. He demolished the lot. (with a struggle.) He couldn’t leave any food as he kept going on about how incredible it was. Especially those maple chicken wings! Kids meals are all good sizes, Izzie (9) eats a lot and was more than happy with the kids’ size. We did have an issue with the kids not enjoying the mac n cheese. But the staff were amazing and helped us fix the situation. Everyone left with full bellies and a smile on their face. Plus they are participating in the eat out to help out scheme, with 50% off Monday – Wednesday.
I can’t thank everyone enough for being so lovely and welcoming. By far one of our favourite days out this summer. Hopefully, bowling can restart around the 15th so we can come back and enjoy the full experience. If you are in Norfolk it is definitely worth taking a look at. Be sure to take bottled water as the maze is hot. You can find jr’s HERE, you don’t need to book in advance for the time being. Be sure to check their website for any changes.
